Q - What are the environmental impacts of using the Ecolure ? A - The Ecolure is an environment friendly and recyclable product, being a natural weighed fishing product (6gr), it eliminates the need for lead weights and other metals devices. Leads weights on the other hand pollute the ecosystems and create an ever lurking danger for migratory birds who ingest the lead pellets and face a slow agonizing death. Canadian Scientists estimate that 500 tonnes of lead is lost in the ecosystems every year. Parks Canada prohibits the use of lead weights in National Parks, and Provincial Parks will most likely adapt similar measures. Q – What will be the retail cost of the Ecolure to the consumer ? A - The company’s short and long term objective is to provide a good quality fishing product at an affordable cost to the consumer. Q
- How long can the product be used before it has to be replaced
?A - Like any other consumer product its performance and visual appearance will be affected by repeated use and by natural elements. Depending on the conditions where its used, it should last for the entire fishing season; even longer if handled and used with care. I keep my old ones to store my favorite lures after the season. Q – Do you catch fish with the Ecolure product and what kinds ? A - The same kind that good spoon lures catch with an added benefit. Since the product intensifies the color of the lure, it attracts fish in deeper waters and from a further distance. During the field testing of the earlier versions of the product. I’ve caught lake trout, speckled & brook trout, northern pike, including Atlantic salmon. Last May 2002, a fisherman as far north as Kuujjuaq, Quebec., reported catching twenty-two arctic char using the Ecolure during the annual ice fishing derby at Finger Lake, Quebec; home of the world record arctic char. (30.2 lbs) Anglers in the Kawawachikamach and Schefferville Area have also reported landing ouananiche a landlocked salmon, as well as trophy sized lake trout during the 2002-fishing season using the Ecolure.
