WELCOME to the Ecolure Product Website

The ECO(logical)LURE took more than five years to develop and field test into the far reaches of northern Quebec and the Labrador interior.

The idea began as a farfetched solution to a simple problem during a fishing trip in July 1997.

In April 1998, with the financial assistance of the National Research Council of Canada and the Naskapi-CEDO.

A call for bids was forwarded to industrial designers in Montreal and Quebec.

The services of GID-Design of Ste-Foy, Quebec were retained to develop a prototype of the product.

Based on results of the initial field testing; several modifications were made during the fall to adapt to the original design and concept of the product.

The next three years were devoted to more field testing of other prototypes in swimming pools, lakes, power dams and major rivers in northern Quebec and Labrador.

The product underwent further field testing in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia during the 2002-fishing season to assess angler reaction.

The Ecolure product made its 2003 debut at Baron Sports, of Montreal, Quebec., and Kuujjuaq, Quebec in Ungava Bay.

Discussions with fishing equipment distributors in Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, British Columbia and Edmonton, Alberta are still underway.
